In accordance with COPPA, we do NOT collect any personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. This includes:

• No home addresses or contact phone numbers
• No photographs
• No social security numbers or other government identifiers
• No precise location or geolocation tracking

A parent or guardian creates the account. Tale recordings (voice) are collected only to create a story, and only after permission is given in the app.

1.2 Anonymous Usage Data

We may collect anonymous, non-personal technical information to improve app functionality:

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage statistics (story completion rates, feature usage)
• Crash reports and error logs (anonymized)
• General location (country/region only, for content localization)

✓ All data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

2. How We Use Information

2.1 App Functionality

• Generate age-appropriate stories from a recorded idea
• Save stories in the library so they can be played again

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Story preferences and app settings are stored locally on the user's device using secure, encrypted storage. This data never leaves the device and is automatically deleted when the app is uninstalled.

3.2 Cloud Storage

Account information and saved tales may be stored securely so the library can be used across sessions. Tale recordings are sent over encrypted connections to the AI services listed below, only after permission in the app.

3.3 Security Measures

• End-to-end encryption for all data transmission

• No third-party analytics or tracking services

4. Creating Tales with AI

A parent or guardian should read this before continuing.

When you record an idea for a tale, TaleLand uses third-party AI services to turn that recording into a story you can listen to. We do this only after you give permission in the app.

4.1 What is sent

Your tale recording (your voice) and the words transcribed from it. We do not send your name, email address, or password to these AI services.

4.2 Who receives it

• OpenAI — converts your speech into text
• Google Gemini — writes the children's story from that text
• Google Cloud Text-to-Speech — reads the story aloud

4.3 How it is used

This data is used only to create, write, and narrate your tale. It is not sold, and it is not used to advertise to you.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We do not share tale recordings with advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing partners.

5.1 Service providers

Besides the AI services above, we use providers only to operate the app (for example, account storage and in-app purchases). They may process data solely to provide those services.

5.2 Legal Compliance

We may disclose information only when required by law, such as:

• Valid legal subpoenas or court orders
• Child safety emergencies
• Protection of our legal rights and safety
